The 41st edition of “Ramadan Nights” exhibition kicked off yesterday evening, Thursday, and is slated to run until April 10th.
Organised by the Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the 21-day event features massive discounts of up to 75 percent on a wide variety of products offered by over 200 key retailers around 500 international and local brands.
The exhibition also boasts an array of engaging activities and entertaining events that augment the Ramadan ambience and enrich the festive shopping experience for families and shoppers from diverse backgrounds and categories across the emirate.
The exhibition was inaugurated by HE Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI and Expo Centre Sharjah, in the presence of HE Walid Abdul Rahman Bukhatir, Second Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber, along with several other Chamber officials.
Also present were HE Saif Mohammad Al Midfa, the CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, and Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of Economic Relations and Marketing at SCCI and General Coordinator of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival, as well as Sultan Shataf, the Commercial Director at Expo Centre Sharjah, alongside other officials and diplomats.
Following the opening ceremony of the exhibition, which comes within the framework of the 34th edition of the “Sharjah Ramadan Festival”, guests embarked on a tour of its diverse halls and pavilions. They engaged with several exhibitors from major retailers, gaining insights into the array of products on display.
Attendees also indulged in some of the exhibition’s heritage-themed programmes and artistic performances showcased in the Heritage Village. They also explored exhibits curated by productive families, featuring traditional attire, tools, handicrafts, incense, beverages, and a selection of popular Ramadan delicacies.
HE Abdullah Sultan Al Owais underscored the significance of ‘Ramadan Nights’ as a flagship initiative that not only enhances the festive shopping and entertainment experiences, but also bolsters the retail and tourism sector. The event serves as a dynamic platform for retailers, exhibitors, and productive families to showcase and promote their products and offerings, thereby bolstering sales volumes within the emirate.
He highlighted that ‘Ramadan Nights’ exhibition has consistently achieved success over its 41-year tenure, while playing a pivotal role in strengthening social cohesion and supporting heritage activities.
For his part, HE Saif Mohammad Al Midfa emphasised that the exhibition has solidified its position as a highly anticipated event during the auspicious month of Ramadan.
He pointed out that the exhibition features a diverse range of products and merchandise, offering visitors access to competitive offers, special promotions and enticing discounts on both local and international products, including the most famous brands. In parallel, it offers a unique platform for small and medium-sized business owners, entrepreneurs, and productive families.
Affirming its role as one of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival’s quality initiatives, organized by the Sharjah Chamber, Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan noted that the ‘Ramadan Nights’ exhibition aims is to stimulate the emirate’s economic and commercial activity and development, bolstering the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
He added that the event fosters small and medium-sized business owners’ engagement in the market, while concurrently providing a platform for showcasing their offerings amidst a spectrum of cultural, social, and spiritually enriching activities synonymous with the sanctity of Ramadan.
Spanning over 16,000 metres, the exhibition is expected to draw more than 150,000 visitors, showcasing across its pavilions alluring offers and discounts on a diverse array of products. These include apparel, sports gear, artisanal products, traditional and heritage handicrafts, electrical appliances, and groceries.
Visitors can also relish in a culinary experience at a restaurant lounge hosting food stalls that serve popular delicacies covering a myriad of cuisines and flavours from around the world.
The “Ramadan Nights” exhibition is running daily during the holy month from 5pm to 1am and from 3pm to midnight during Eid Al-Fitr.
