Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 22 July 2023: As Eid al Adha draws near, Dubai is preparing for eight days of spectacular citywide celebrations. Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), everyone in the emirate and beyond is invited to celebrate Eid in Dubai from 28 June to 6 July, with awe-inspiring live entertainment, spectacular firework displays, unmissable mall activations, tempting retail offers, life-changing raffles and prizes, and even a family outing to Modesh World. And with Eid Al Adha celebrations coinciding with the opening weekend of Dubai Summer Surprises, there’s never been a more exciting start to summer in the city.
MUSIC AND SHOWS
Dubai is in for a spectacular Eid weekend of incredible musical performances. The hottest ticket in town is a one-night-only performance of Hussain Al Jassmi and Kadim Al Sahir, two of the Arab world’s most popular singers, live at the Coca-Cola Arena on 2 July. The show starts at 9pm, with tickets available at dubai.platinumlist.net.
On the following evening at the same venue, again for one night only, Dubai will welcome the legendary performer and Saudi icon Mohamed Abdo. The ‘Artist of the Arabs’ will take to the stage at the Coca-Cola Arena for a spectacular Eid show on July 1, beginning at 8pm. Tickets are available, while they last, at dubai.platinumlist.net.
Fans of comedy won’t want to miss out on UK headline comedians Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe at Dubai Opera on 3 July for a live performance of their popular Parenting Hell podcast. The pair discuss the highs and lows of parenting, with tickets available from dubaiopera.com.
FIREWORKS
The family favourite Dubai Parks and Resorts is the place to go for celebratory pyrotechnics over Eid Al Adha, with five nights of spectacular fireworks shows, every evening at 9pm from 27 June through to 1 July.
Or head down to Dubai Festival City to catch fireworks lighting up the skies on the second day of Eid Al Adha at 9pm on 29 June. The record-breaking, immersive, ever-changing laser and light show, Imagine will also take place daily after sunset starting from 28 June.
MALL ACTIVATIONS
The city’s malls come alive over Eid Al Adha, with plenty of family focused entertainment to enjoy. Mercato Mall is hosting its Circus Fiesta daily from 28 June to 9 July, with shows and family-friendly activities for all. And for every AED 200 spent, there’s the chance to enter into a special prize draw to win a Cadillac Escalade worth AED 491,000.
Superhero fans should head down to Nakheel Mall for a chance to meet Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and The Flash from the Justice League, every day from 2pm to 10pm from 29 June right the way through until 29 July .
While at Ibn Battuta Mall, in India Court and Egypt Court, there’s a treat in store for Batman fans, with the Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight experience, delivering interactive and virtual reality experiences, workshops, meet-and-greets and more, from 29 June to 29 July, daily from 2pm until 10pm.
Dubai’s malls are also the perfect place to catch a traditional Emirati band, with performances from 4pm onwards at City Centre Mirdif, City Walk, Dubai Festival City and Ibn Battuta Mall on the first and second days of Eid, and Deira City Centre, Nakheel Mall, Circle Mall and The Outlet Village and Festival Plaza Mall on the second and third days of Eid.
Be part of the thrilling celebrations at the opening weekend of Dubai Summer Surprises on June 29 and 30, taking place at Ibn Battuta Mall and City Centre Mirdif. Immerse yourself in a diverse range of live entertainment, delightful dance performances and brilliant musicians, every day from 4pm to 10pm. Watch an extraordinary dance showcase by Urban Crew renowned performers from America’s Got Talent and prepare to be spellbound by the magical skills of Magical Most. Groove to the fantastic set played by DJ Michelle, the youngest DJ in Dubai and enjoy the melodies of the up-and-coming Emirati singer Not So Human. Finally, the well-loved artists Aziz Maraki and Conor Maynard will grace the stage with their epic performances.
